Rekha Nandwani is a progressive with a real record of advocating for those who are underrepresented in her community in Journal Square and the Heights. Whether she is demanding public school students receive a quality education, ensuring children have safe transportation to school, or encouraging parents to make sure their children have access to healthy foods, Rekha has fought to progress these causes.

Rekha currently serves as a committeewoman for her community in Ward C and as President of the Jefferson Avenue Block Association. She is also a steering board member and county director for the New Jersey Democratic State Committee’s South Asian American Caucus. But she is a mother first with a daughter in Jersey City’s public school system. An entrepreneur by background, Rekha brings a record of creativity and efficiency in seeking unique solutions to issues facing her community and making sure all residents have a say.

Given Rekha’s accomplishments for her community, her diverse background and experience on the local community level, she would be a hardworking Councilwoman for Ward C who will bring residents’ interests to City Hall.
